Minted Orange Radish Drink

I was so excited when we were able to harvest from our own garden for the first time this year.  We grew some very nice looking radishes that had a beautiful red color, strong green leaves and a smooth, peppery taste.

Radishes are wonderfully full of sulfur, which helps build collagen, a word you might recognize from a skincare commercial.  Collagen is the elastic stuff in your skin.  So boosting your collagen means boosting your skin’s elasticity, which means you are giving yourself a facial from the inside.

These little powerhouses are a great detoxifier and rich in Vitamin C, which makes them another great anticancer food.  They are also beneficial in treating/fighting urinary and kidney disorders, cleanses the blood and aids in liver and gall bladder functions.  Radish is also anti congestive, which means it relieves congestion in the respiratory system due to cold, infection, and allergies.

The radish leaves are also edible and contain valuable nutrients like calcium, riboflavin and carotene.

I couldn’t wait to get them into my Vitamix!

My first juice was the Spicy Skin Saver that I’ve shared with you previously.  The radish and ginger definitely gives this drink it’s umph, but the other cooler grapes, kale and cucumber make it so refreshing.

To try out something new, I went to the Vitamix source and found this Minted Orange Radish Drink.  It was divine 🙂  Again, cooler ingredients help balance out the spicy root vegetable, but you definitely know you’re drinking a powerhouse of goodness!


Minted Orange Radish Drink

1/2 cup orange juice (I used Valencia oranges to make this juice first)
1/2 cup orange without the peel
1/4 cup radishes
1 teaspoon honey
3 large mint leaves
1/2 cup ice cubes
