Are you getting enough cranberry in you juicing? They are such a fun and simple way to really boost up a juice or smoothie. Just a little bit can go a long way with this tart fruit, but the small berries can also pack a large dose of antioxidants to help our bodies fight inflammation. More and more research is revealing how low level inflammation is linked to a number of illnesses such as heart disease, arthritis, kidney disease, many cancers and even Alzheimers.
Now, before you go running out to buy your grocery store stocked bottle of cranberry “juice” consider this: what is really in that bottle? Most of the plastic bottles you see offering a wide variety of pairings with our little red berries contain lots and lots of sugar. Refined sugar that causes…you guessed it, inflammation. So drinking the sugary “juice” is not going to give you the same health benefits of making your own from the berries or buying from a trusted source that contains only cranberry juice.
Here is one of my fall favorites with fresh picked local apples!
