Have you enjoyed the past week of spring cleaning?  Just like your home, if you simply check off each day, but fall back into old ways, you will quickly find yourself overcome with clutter.  On the bright side, if you take each day to go through a series of small positive steps, like grains of sand on the beach, they will add up over time to be big changes for a better life.

Here are some good small steps that add up:

  • Drink more water
  • Be physically active for 30 minutes a day
  • Be quiet and reflective at least 10 minutes a day
  • Laugh more
  • Tell someone how much you care about them
  • Start a gratitude journal
  • Nurture your spirituality
  • Choose the long-term solution, not the short-term relief
  • Make your health a priority
  • Don’t allow junk food in the house (even by guests)
  • Remember to breathe
  • Don’t fixate on what you can’t have, focus on what new things you can enjoy

All of these are such simple acts, but have huge value.  By making a series of small choices, you set a trend into motion that gains momentum and may even suck in those around you.  Positive results will encourage you to keep going and the sun might even shine a little brighter for you.
