30 Days of Green Smoothies: Day 23, 24, & 25

Wow, I did not intend to make this a “weekend edition” post, but yet here we are.  It’s Sunday afternoon and I am finally happy to report that the latest issue of Juicing Healthy Magazine is live in iTunes! {stadium applause}

In theory that means that I should be smooth sailing through the last five days of my 30 day challenge.  Funny how time seems to slip by when we are focused on other things isn’t it?  The good news is that each day starts with a lovely green smoothie and it helps fuel me for all those other things I have on my to do list.

Let’s recap the weekend, shall we?

Berry Kale Protein Smoothie

Friday, I enjoyed a Berry Kale Protein Smoothie. Honestly, I had messed up enough days trying to come up with a new combination that I felt like staying close to standard that day.

Berry Kale Protein Smoothie

  • 1 handful of kale
  • 1 cup raw protein powder
  • 1 cup soy milk (you can use any milk you like)
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries

Ad everything to the Vitamix and enjoy!

 

Saturday, I got up and ran a local 5K with some running friends.  It was a gorgeous day to run and it felt good to support an organization that helps the less fortunate in my area.  For runs, I like to stick with simple combos of green & fruit.  I also avoid dairy or soy before running.  This is a personal preference that I’ve developed over years of running. The fruit delivers the sugars necessary for cardio while the green gives me the most basic form of fuel, chlorophyll!

Kale & Pineapple Smoothie

  • 1 handful of kale
  • 1/2 cup frozen or fresh pineapple
  • 1 cup water
  • ice if using fresh pineapple

Add it all into the Vitamix & enjoy!

Amazing Greens Superfood

Today I enjoyed a quiet sunny morning on the back deck while I finished up the July issue of Juicing Healthy.  I enjoyed a lovely mix with Amazing Greens Superfood to make sure I got a healthy dose of nutritional love this am 🙂
